Capes, boleros and shrugs are the outer layer of a coordinate — cut short and shaped to sit over a bodice rather than to close over the whole silhouette, which is why ordinary coats rarely work with Lolita. Sheer tulle and lace versions read as styling; wool and velvet ones are genuinely warm. Several pieces here detach or convert between lengths.
